You’ve brought your generator out of storage,filled the tank,pulled the cord,and absolutely nothing. Before trying any repair work,get rid of the spark plug to avoid unexpected running while you are working on the system.
Examine the muffler exhaust for any foreign debris if the generator will not start or will not stay running. As soon as that is clean,examine the gas and oil to make certain you have proper levels of both. Lastly,make certain the spark plug has an excellent connection.
It may be running at too low of a speed if the generator does not generate electricity. Adjust the rpm. This can also result from a malfunctioning capacitor or windings,which must be changed and tightened up.
If the voltage is running high with no load on the generator,you may need to change the rpms to a lower speed or change the capacitor. On the other hand,if the voltage is running low under no load,you may need to change the rpms to a higher speed or change the capacitor with one with a higher rating. In addition,for low voltage,you should examine your winding resistance and change your rotary diodes,if required.
If your voltage is okay with no load,however drops when you add a little load,you may need to increase your rpms or get rid of a few items of the load. You could also need to change your rotary diodes.
If the voltage drops when you add a high load,you probably need to change the rpms or get rid of a few items of the load.
